A pitcher and 4 cups

Breaking is exciting, maybe it's because we were told not to as children or maybe it's because there is no going back, something broken can never really be fixed properly.

This project is a drinking set of a pot and 4 glasses from ceramics. The set is casted together and therefore connected to one another. In order to use the set and make it functional, the cups need to be broken from the pitcher, leaving signs on the pitcher, of what once was. In a similar way to a umbilical cord, that leaves us all with a bellybutton.

In addition "braking the glass” adds another value to this specific braking action. Jewish grooms break a glass at their wedding as a sign of good luck.
